Val had the warmest smile when we first met, and their child had a smile to match. So wide, and so bright. This photoshoot was simply about exploration. Let’s stop by this tree and take a photo. Let’s stop by this plant, and hold it.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. The ability to capture the genuine connections and emotions between a family is truly a beautiful thing. It’s a privilege to be invited into their world, even just for a short while, and to freeze those precious moments in time.

For me, photography is not just about taking pretty pictures. It’s about telling a story, capturing the essence of a family’s journey and growth. It’s about documenting the love and joy that radiates between family members, and preserving those memories for future generations.

During this session, it was evident that Val was completely comfortable allowing their child to lead the way. There was a childlike wonder in their eyes as they explored Trinity Bellwoods Park, eagerly discovering new things around every corner. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of curiosity and how it can connect us to the world around us.

We wanted this shoot to be a true representation of the Toronto energy that flows through the veins of this vibrant city. Including iconic landmarks like the CN Tower and the TTC streetcar in the background was our way of bringing a piece of the city’s vitality into these photos.
